We    have    a    variety    of    fund    raising    activities throughout   the   year.   One   such   an   event   was a horse racing evening held at the Atlantic. It   may   be   worth   keeping   an   eye   on   our   Events and   Blog   page   for   news   of   forthcoming   fun fund raisers
Donations Donations and Bequests
As   well   as   our   co0llection   boxes   situated   in and      around      Porthleven      we      sometimes receive       private       donations       from       our supporters. From    time    to    time    Porthleven    Branch    also receive bequests
It   costs   around   £483,000   a   day   to   run   our   lifesaving   service.   Your   generosity   means   crews   can   save   lives quickly,   safely   and   effectively.      Lifeguard   services   patrol   249   UK   beaches.   In   2017   they   helped   24,044   people saving 84 lives.
Peter   Trueman   was   our   branch   Secretary   at the    time.    He    and    his    wife    Valerie    won    the raffle.    In    their    true    style    Peter    and    Valerie shared   the   Easter   Egg   between   a   group   of   very ill      children   suffering   from   the   affects   of   the chernobyl nuclear accident in April 1986.
It   has   be   known   for   us   to   do   a   few   crazy   things   such   as   the   Beaujolais   run,   drive   to   Scotland   to   receive   a specialflagon of Glenmorangie and visit Thornton’s in Southampton for a giant Easter Egg.
